Why was I using PDFs instead of HTML?

A few days ago I was wondering why I made the decision (a couple years ago) to make my resume and portfolio on my website PDFs instead of building them out in HTML. It felt rather odd to me to have them as PDFs on my website, so I’ve taken the time to build out basic HTML versions of both my portfolio and resume. In the future, I’ll be building them into the CMS and making them a bit more interesting and interactive. Both are rather simple in terms of design, but they load quickly, provide the appropriate information, and the resume has print styles to allow me to quickly make a PDF of it should I need to email a PDF version to someone.
